SurveyMonkey reviewThe familiar survey tool, with AI building and analysis, priced by responses
Very good
Brent score, out of 5
SurveyMonkey remains one of the easiest and most complete survey tools, with strong logic, AI-assisted building and analysis, and team features for larger organizations. The free plan is mainly a test drive because it limits questions and how many responses you can view. Monthly billing is expensive, so most buyers should only commit on an annual plan.

Best for
- Businesses running regular customer or employee feedback surveys
- Researchers who need logic, randomization and statistical tools

- Anyone who wants AI help writing and analyzing surveys
Skip it if
- One-off surveys on a zero budget with many responses
- Users who want conversational, one-question-at-a-time forms
- Buyers who only want monthly billing at a low price
You need to know what customers think, why staff are leaving, or whether a new product idea will sell. A Google Form gets you answers, but no logic, no branding and no real analysis, and pasting results into a spreadsheet takes hours.
SurveyMonkey is the tool most people have already answered a survey in. It lets you build a survey from a template or with AI, send it by link, email or embed, and analyze results with filters, crosstabs and AI summaries. Paid plans unlock the logic and analysis tools that make results trustworthy.
This review breaks down the free plan limits, the individual and team plans, and the response caps you should know about before buying. Prices below were shown to us in Australian dollars and vary by country.
What is SurveyMonkey?
SurveyMonkey is an online survey platform for building, sending and analyzing surveys and forms. You create questions from templates, a question bank or AI, add logic and branding, then collect responses through web links, email invitations, website embeds or social sharing. Results appear in dashboards with filters, crosstabs, statistical significance and AI-powered thematic analysis. Plans are sold for individuals (1 user) or teams (3+ users), with response limits per month or year, plus an Enterprise tier with SSO, governance and regional data centers.

Key features of SurveyMonkey
AI survey building
Build with AI is available even on the free plan: describe your goal and SurveyMonkey drafts the questions. You can then edit them or swap in questions from templates.
Logic and randomization
Standard adds skip logic; Advantage adds more logic features; Premier adds advanced logic, block randomization and multilingual surveys. These help keep surveys short and reduce bias.
AI and thematic analysis
From Advantage up, AI analysis and thematic analysis group open-text answers into themes. Statistical significance and multi-survey analysis help you compare results properly.
Many ways to collect
Send surveys by web link, email invitations, website embed or social sharing. Paid plans can redirect people after completion and white-label the survey on Premier.
Team collaboration
Team plans share brand assets, set user roles and permissions, and include premium themes. Enterprise adds SSO, user management, governance and US, Canada or EU data centers.
Integrations and payments
Paid plans include 200+ integrations, and Advantage and higher can accept payments inside a survey, which suits event registration and order forms.
